Your Data

Your Data

This page explains, in plain language, what the member area of our website stores about you and what happens if you choose to close your account. It is not legal advice. Our full Privacy Policy has more detail.

Data tied to your login

  • Login account: username, email, password hash, and role (for example member access). Administrators may also hold extra capabilities for specific tasks.
  • Registration record: your name, email, directory preferences, optional address and phone, link to your household/family listing, and status fields in our member database.
  • Family listing: household name, address, home phone, family photo, and related directory fields if you use the directory.
  • Household members: names, birthdays, contact fields, photos, and preferences you enter for each person on your listing.
  • Prayer requests you created (category, text, visibility).
  • Donor number you save on your profile: stored securely and used to connect your offerings to the correct internal record for year-end summaries.

What “Close my account” does

From your profile dashboard, you can close your member account after typing the confirmation phrase. That process will:

  • Delete your login (you cannot sign in again with that account).
  • Clear or anonymize your registration and linked profile fields on the member site (for example name and email replaced with generic placeholders, directory listing turned off for your registration).
  • Anonymize prayer requests you created so they are no longer tied to your user id, and scrub linked member rows that were tied only to your login where applicable.
  • If you were the primary contact on your household’s directory card, mark that card hidden from the online member directory so it does not continue to show under your old login. Other household members can contact the office if the listing should be updated or shown again.

What we keep after you close your account

Good stewardship and tax record-keeping practice require us to keep certain financial records, including offering history and the internal donor number linkage, for a period of years. After account closure:

  • We retain a minimal internal row (without your working email or member-site profile) so historic offering totals and donor-number mapping stay consistent for audits and year-end receipts.
  • That retained information is not used for marketing and is not shown on the public member profile or directory in the same way as before closure.

If you need a formal data request or have a dispute, contact the assembly using the contact information published on the site.
